So when sorting out my drawers in my desk I found a selection of tickets I’ve kept from over the years. I try to keep all the tickets for sporting events, trips from holidays etc as a good reminder of what I’ve done. I’ve been lucky enough to attend some very big events. The first FA Cup Final and the new Wembley with Dave Boy Green, United lost though. The first ever NFL regular season game to be held outside of the US, this was also at Wembley between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants. Miami lost that game 14-10 but the Giants did go on to win the Super Bowl that year so that made it a little bit easier to swallow. The season opener for the Miami Dolphins in 2005 against the Denver Broncos (who are in the Super bowl this year), Miami won 34-10 that day. Two more NFL games at Wembley, the Denver Broncos v San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears v Tampa Bay Buccaneers. MLB Baseball while in Detroit, the Tigers v The Cleveland Indians in which we saw a Grand Slam where someone is on all 3 bases and the batter then hits a home run. England Internationals against San Marino and Brazil, the Brazil game was very good as it’s not every day you get to watch players of that calibre, England winning made it seven better! I’ve been to quite a few Manchester United games over the years which is always a great experience, absolutely love going to Old Trafford. I was asked by Darren to go with him and Ricky to a Norwich City game which included a meal in the box of the head on Proton UK who Darren worked for and who sponsored Norwich at the time. We also got our photo taken in the Lounge after the game with the Man of the Match. Cambridge United and Peterborough United Playoff Finals at Wembley and Old Trafford. Then some other events like Royal Ascot, Central Park Zoo, The Rockefeller Centre and many more.
I have scanned in a selection of the tickets for you to have a look at so hopefully you will find them interesting.
The first football games I remember going to were two games at Old Trafford in 1989 and 90, the first was a league game against Aston Villa, and United won 2-0 with Mark Robbins scoring both. The second game was the European Cup Winner Cup Semi Final Second Leg against Legia Warsaw, we drew 1-1, which put us through to the final in Rotterdam, and Mark Hughes won it for us against Barcelona.
Thanks for reading.
